Temporal log

As the name suggests this project requires us to log down something over a period of time.

My initial idea is to record down all smses that i've sent over a period of 1 mth. Subsequently i want to find out what is the word that is most commonly used. Then in an intentional effort i'll refrain from using the word altogether for 1week.

I took fotos of all my smses.( This will be uploaded to Picasa soon.)

Then i digitised all the smses that i've sent into a 5 page word document with font size 12. Michael was intrigued by the density of these texts and suggests that i work on these texts.
(I'll upload it online soon)

I shrunk all the words into a one page document. It doesn't make sense to ppl(i've passed the piece of document to several ppl and told them to just read it, all cldn't last for more than 2mins before losing interest), as it is a random sequence of text messages. As Aaron has put it, it is like a mental keynote. Each random sms magically resurrect the dormant neurones somewhere deep in the abyss the brain and suddenly a torrent of memories just engulfed me. The space i'm in, the activities i'm engaging, my feelings at that point in time...

I realise that there are a lot of things that we do, sometimes conscious, sometimes not so conscious, sometimes voluntary, sometimes not so voluntary, but most of the time we forget what we've done and move on with life. But i realise after reading through all these actions that i've done and the things that i've said, there seems to be a pattern or some trends that speaks about myself. Like how elena puts it, it's like understanding yourself more, your own personality.

So i painstakingly highlighted all the "i" and the "u" that i've sent and do a comparison. I realised that there are more "i" than "u", so i gather tt i'm more self-centered. Then i use the same approach, that is finding out the no. of occurences of some words and then try to make an analysis of myself. These are the following...

Alternative fairy tales

This project requires us to tell a classical fairy tale in your most interesting way.
Deadline:2 weeks
Presentation medium: Any

In my work, i intend to combine a system of divinity and psychogeography(as both are subjects covered in the previous lessons) and using a classical fairytale to bring out the concepts. then i've decided to use video as the medium.

This is how the presentation goes...

First, a volunteer is chosen.
A piece of A4 sheet with the 64 hexagram in I-ching is then given to the volunteer.

The volunteer is required to choose a fairy tale from the choices given to him.(3 little pigs or Jack and the beanstalk)

Suppose 3 little pigs is chosen...
A series of videos are then played.

2.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7kRUD4FZvM(click on the 1st link below)

The volunteer is then required to circle out the hexagram that caught his attention while watching the videos that are played.

The answer to his question will then be derived from the hexagram that he has chosen.
